To tell or not to tell?

I told everyone but I am the type that doesn't care what people think or say about me. With that said I have had nothing but positive and supportive remarks made to me I am finding in this day and age people are just glad you are getting healthier and any tool you used to get there is secondary.

I only told my children prior to surgery. I have told some of my friends as I have visited them and discussed my "sudden" weight loss. Some I just leave as I am limiting my intake.. others I have told the whole story. My sister lives in another state and I have not told her yet. The difference is feeling out their reactions. Some folks are closer than others and I feel I can disclose intimate details without recrimination. I have a dear friend who is very supporting of my surgery despite it being something he would never do.

The method of weight loss is a personal decision and not really anyone's business whether you choose Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers, surgery or any other method. Like any other detail of your personal life, you will know who to share it with and how much. If you decide not to share....do not get guilty. It is your life and not everything is required to be public knowledge.
