I am waiting to have a barium swallow done to see if I'm approved for surgery by Dr Almanza. Has anyone had to wait to get approved? Nervous, worried, afraid my dream is going to slip right through my fingers. Thanks for any replies.
I do not see why you are nervous about potentially being disapproved since I have never heard of Dr. Almanza ever rejecting or disapproving any potential patients.
He is a very motivated, profit-driven surgeon. If he rejects patients, this represents a loss of cash flow. Therefore, you will not be disapproved.

I wrote a message late last night that i apparently hit wrong button and got erased. I wanted to let you know my surgery was delayed because my cardiologist office forgot to send my echocardiogram. I have CHF and the Mexico cardiologist wanted to make I was stable for surgery. it took 24hrs to get this to him so my surgery was delayed by several hours. i originally was scheduled early in the morning and went late afternoon. it was a little nerve wracking but in the end all worked out and in the long run i felt more at ease knowing they were so thorough. i almost forgot i had to also get additional test, it was a chest x-ray. youll get the surgery i imagine he just wants to know what your stomach looks like before doing the procedure. Hang in there.
Hi Teresa, were do you live? Sounds like your medically isolated. Here were i live there are multiple hospitals that perform barium swallows. Ive had a few over the years. However they are scheduled ahead of time and gotten approved from my Insurance. Not sure why your having difficulty or how to help. Please let me know how i can help. Tamera
I just want to let you all know that I had my surgery on December 16th with dr. Hernandez who works with dr. Almanza I hate to tell you this but he does reject people because he rejected a lady when I was there because she had not told him the truth about having past surgery but she told them once she got there so he did not operate on her but he did do the sleeve on her husband he told her she was a high-risk and he didn't want anything to happen to her so there is a chance that he will disapprove someone a lot of people go to Mexico and they're not honest about their past surgeries and then when they have complications and something bad happens they ready to say that Mexico is a bad place but it's not there really good Doctors. I would recommend them to anybody my surgery went well I was honest about everything and I didn't have any complications. He's making you do a barium swallow for a reason and whatever that reason is do what he asks and you should be fine
licensetoheal, just wanted to let you know I am being honest about everything if not I wouldn't be so worried about getting my b.swollow done. He knows all my past surgery I've even sent him the dr notes who preformed my bariatric bypass an I've told him all other surgeries. Did stomach exray an trying to do barium swollow test an I will eventually find someone who will do it. I can not lie about this because I don't have the money to do this just laying around.
Not for that reason but I did have to wait. When I got the call it was so exciting. I got the call while at work and I couldn't help myself,.. I screamed!
When you get the call that verifies this is happening and all obstacles in your path to surgery have been defeated you will feel heavenly. Even if you already KNOW it will happen.
