And to top off all the fun, I found out Friday (after SCREAMING from the rooftops that I need pain meds) that I have two broken ribs. Now they gave me pain meds. Thanks for noticing those broken ribs hospital people. I kept saying my back hurt, and they must have thought it went with my broken neck. AHHHHH!!!

Oh lordy I really feel your pain. Prior to surgery, I was taking at least 2 800mg Ibuprofen a day. I'm hoping to avoid going back on that heavy a dose of that so I'm making do with a couple of over the counter Aleve now and that's giving me enough relief from back pain. Perhaps you might try those. My doc says they are ok if I can tolerate them. Might be an alternative for you. Oh how I miss skiing. I spent 8 yrs as ski patrol back in the late 70's and early 80's. Really messed up an ankle and could no longer wear ski boots. You'll get back to it and with the lower weight you'll be zipping down the hill and not having to stop every couple of hundred yards.

Jeez, sraebaer, you poor thing! I've been thinking about you. Glad to hear I don't have to make a drug run north to help you out.

And Connie4 -- that's some tough news. But you're right that things could almost always be worse. I hope you and your hubby are on the mend now and that things get better for you both ASAP. Very best wishes!

I'm so sorry this happened to you. This might not help, but one day you'll look back and say oh geeze how did I get through that!! You did because you're a strong lady!

    Bless!

Gastric surgery patients are not supposed to take NSAIDS like ibuprofen or naproxen (aleve). Acetaminophen only.
