    Default Adding bread back in.....

I'm starting to add bread back into my diet. I found a really low carb tortilla, but what about bread?

I havent found a low calorie/ low carb bread yet.

Whats a yummy bread that won't break the carb and calorie bank?

I don't know but I am curious to see what people say. I am not ready to add those things back but when I do am going to ask for your review on what was good!

When I was in the US my fav was the Trader Joe's Sprouted 7 grain bread. 60 cal per slice, 7g carbs, 5g protein. I liked that it had iron (but didn't write down how much on my sparkpeople tracker) it's a little too salty but I have low tolerance for salt. Plus my kids didn't like it so it was a big plus one loaf could stay safely in the fridge for 10 days!
I don't know if they still have it in stores..last time I got it was a few months ago.

    EDITED!!
I just checked online to see if it was still available, and apparently the recipe was changed recently and now have more carbs! what a shame!

Pam, I love Dave's Killer Bread you might want to checkout their Powerseed Thin Slices 11g carbs, but 4g fiber. It's super tasty.

I also use a middle eastern lavash flatbread. warm it up a bit and it's great for wraps.

I have them a few times a week, but not every day. I get so used to making sandwiches for convenience then next thing I know that's all I'm eating all the time.

Flatouts are good, and the Sara Lee 45 calorie bread toasted is pretty good when you're craving a sandwich, but I can only eat one slice at a time even though I always toast 2 (old habits die hard).
I also like the frozen Ezekiel cinnamon raisin bread, it's great w/peanut butter and sf jelly

I'm not adding pasta back quite yet. that may come later, but it's one of my trigger foods, so I'm trying to stay away from it as long as possible. Same with rice and chips.....no control whatsoever!

I was looking at Killer Daves online yesterday. They look delicious, but a bit high in calories and carbs for 2 slices.

That flatout flatbread.....can you eat a whole piece or just half? cause one piece is 130 calories.

I made my own garlic bread from scratch. Very small loaves and slice very thin. PRESTO....low calorie.

I think they are quality calories so no worries for me :-)

I'm still not able to eat a whole flatbread on one seating. I usually make a wrap with alfalfa sprouts and chicken or tuna salad and eat half.

I save bread for special occasions, like a fancy restaurant where it's totally yummy. Otherwise I don't eat bread. (OK, I eat a slice of pizza once in a while, so I guess it's all a matter of choices.)
