I'd question a surgeon that would give you surgery for only 35 pounds.

    Surgery Day Weight 1/11: 300
    Month 1: -34 pounds, -25 inches

Thanks Ann2- I will definitely approach cautiously. I am going to explore other avenues first, to ensure that something else is not going on with my body. Thanks again.

And although I don't know how tall you are, consider that there's a strong possibility you'll have a hard time not losing more like 60 pounds or even more (and not 35 pounds) after being sleeved. It's hard for someone who hasn't been sleeved yet to understand how that would happen. But with the great post-op reduction in ghrelin (hunger hormone) and the time it takes for the sleeve to heal (and swelling to go down) and the rapid weight loss rate of the "honeymoon phase" you could wind up fighting being underweight.

    Just food for thought.

    Best wishes to you!

This is why Ann is my girl. Always the other side of the story.

For the rest of you struggling to find a way to "tell", try this. Another poster posted about telling folks they went low carb with exercise and shakes.

    TMI.

I told everyone that I ate less and exercised. Period. And...that's exactly what I did. What I didn't tell them at first was that I purchased the WMD of weight loss tools to help me along. If you buy a treadmill to help you exercise, then you purchased a tool. If you buy running shoes to help you exercise, you've purchased a tool. If you buy a scale to weigh and measure your food, you've purchased a tool. Getting the procedure is nothing more than buying a tool to help you lose weight.

Believe me, once you've lost the weight, your friends and acquaintances will be begging you to tell them the "real" secret. That's when you drop the mike and tell 'em.

To the OP, I agree with Ann. You might want to reach out to Katrina. She's a regular poster on here and has one hell of a time keeping her weight on. In fact, she just posted pictures of herself on the vets page and says that she has a hard time keeping weight on. I don't know if she started out with a low, low BMI, but, she sure as hell has one now. If I were you, I'd reach out to her and she if you and her have anything in common on that ground and maybe that will give you the last info you need to make an informed decision.

    Peace

I don't think people realize that WLS surgery is a TOOL, not a magic wand. You still have to deal with the eating addiction. You still have
to eat right, and eat small portions. You still have to exercise.

I could see if there was a pill you could take and you would lose weight with no exercise, eating whatever you wanted and how much you wanted.
Sure, that would be an "easy way out".

I'm lucky in that everyone (except my best friend) is happy for me.

The people who say negative things to you are either 1) Jealous 2) maybe feeling threatened by the fact that you will be bettering yourself. I think
a lot of people who look down on others are insecure themselves.
