Any Dr. Verboonen People?

I am scheduled for sleeve surgery 2/17/17 and was wondering if anyone out there has had experience with Dr. Verboonen and his team.
I had my band done by him in 2009 and had a Good experience. I haven't been to T.J. in a while and my family is VERY nervous about me going. Any Advise or comments?

I just had a revision surgery with Dr. Verboonen in Cancun Mexico Jan 13, 2017. I only have great things to say about that experience. I was not in his Tijuana location and had surgery at Victoria Hospital. The care there was exceptional. You can read my blogs for more detail. But I can say that they checked my blood pressure, temperature, and drain every hour for 2 days. It's very natural to be nervous, and it's great that you are doing your research. But I am happy that I got my band removed and converted to a sleeve.

You may want to read some of my blog posts for more details on my experience with Dr. Verboonen. I had a revision surgery with him in Cancun Mexico Jan 13, 2017. I only have great things to say about that experience. I was not in his Tijuana location and had surgery at Victoria Hospital. So, I cannot speak to the care at the Tiajuna location. The care in Cancun was exceptional. I was checked regularly - my blood pressure, temperature, and drain examined every hour for 2 days. The space was clean, the service courteous, and the Dr. did a good job. I am happy that I got my band removed and converted to a sleeve. Now at about 10 weeks out, I have lost 25lbs and I am really happy. No complications related to my VSG.

Glad to hear thi! I feel more comfortable with going to Cancun. Is it manadatory that you stay in the B2B Hotel? My husband is going to come with me and I thought it would be a nice vacation to go to one of the all inclusive resorts with a golf course for him. I could stay in the hotel and wouldn't have to go on the dreaded golf course with him :-)

I recently had surgery with him in Tijauna and I left tijuana after my tonights in hospital and stayed in San Diego instead. I also know there was another girl that had her surgery the same day as me and she negotiated when she booked that she only stayed two days.

I don't think it's mandatory but you will likely have to cover the costs if you want to stay in another hotel. Be sure to ask your coordinator. The hotel we stayed was Beach Scape. We were able to get an upgrade to a suite the first night. It was clean and right on the beach. Although you won't be able to go for a swim, there is a pool. There are also activities arranged by the hotel. So, your husband could go golfing if he wanted to. But be mindful that you will likely be uncomfortable for a few days and will likely need his help. We did lots of walking while I was there and I think that helped with my recovery.
