    Default 3 month Surgiversary

Friday will be three calendar months after my surgery. It feels like yesterday but at the same time if feels like so much time has passed when I think about how much better I feel. I was 340 at surgery and prior to that as high as 361. So I am down to 280 which is 60 pounds since surgery and 70 of you count the 10 I lost from the time I met the surgeon to the surgery date and 81 from my highest.

I feel so much better. I can walk more now and actually feel up to it and have some excitement about exercise. That is a big statement for this sedentary girl . I went from avoiding all walking even parking as close as possible to entrances to now walking 30 minutes most days. That may seem small to some but for me it is big. I am so encouraged because I know the smaller I get the more I will need to move to keep the weight off.

I have learned that getting the water in requires focus and if I get in more than 64oz my weight loss is better. I have also learned to not fall into the trap of relying on soft foods only like high protein low carb/sugar yogurt and cottage cheese. Now that I am past the soft food stage I need to really plan more and not fall into the easy grab a yogurt mode. When I eat more dense meats, I eat overall less in a day while meeting protein goals and lose more.

I have survived two stalls that seemed to go on for days and days.

So reflecting today on all of that and really really happy I made the decision to have the sleeve.

361 lbs-Highest weight at the start of the sleeve research
    350 lbs-Weight at 1st Surgeon Visit
340 lbs-Weight at pre op 3days prior to surgery (having lost 10 lbs on pre op diet)
    324 lbs- Day 14
    312 lbs -Day 27
    304 lbs- Day 37
    299 lbs- Day 44
    293 lbs- Day 62
    286 lbs- Day 73
    280 lbs- Day 86
    273 lbs- Day 107
    261 lbs- Day 141
    251 lbs 6mo
    242 lbs 7mo
    235 lbs 10mo

Wow!! 60 pounds!! That is impressive!! YES!! I lose more when I am eating a lot of meat and hitting my protein goals as well. Glad you are doing so well Cherub! My 12 weeks is on Thursday! (I never know if we should be counting by weeks. Three months for me would technically be the 3rd?!)

I dont know how to count either In my food diary I count by days but in my head I like to count Fridays since surgery since I had it on a Friday. I am also tall so I know that is in my favor with the initial weight loss.

Congrats on your progress so far Cherub. Any exercise is better than none. Keep plugging along and you'll reach your goal. As your energy increases, you may want to consider periodically changing up your exercise routine. Keep up the good work!!!

Congrats on the good progress. You are doing fantastic. But don't discount cottage cheese as a snack. It can be a good source of nutrition. Balance is important.

Thanks for the reminder. I do love cottage cheese. I eat the 2% kind.
