Default I'm Complete = Revision Done!!!!

Gastric Sleeve to Bypass.......Last Wednesday morning I revised my WLS. 5 days out, and 8 pounds down
;fluid weight I know. It's only the beginning. I am so glad I made the choice. Postop diet has gotten to me a lil bit. Broth is horrible. I can only deal with Popsicles and water or crystal light. Today I had Cream of Chicken soup thinned down with nonfat milk. Nonetheless, I feel great. No pain meds taken since being released on Saturday. Only Protonix, an antacid. I began a multivitamin today as well. I see the Doctor by the end of the week.

So happy for you. You made the right choice. My brother's going the bypass route too. I'm revising to the duodenal switch soon myself.
With so many sleever's revising board management may want to consider adding another section for revision surgeries or post-sleeve graduates. I don't regret my sleeve. Never got as big as I was but sometimes you have to move on to another revision.

27 pounds down from original starting weight 314. The morning of surgery I was 298. I'm 10 days out from the revision. I saw doctor yesterday for my one week post op appt. He was pleased and happy with my progress. I mentioned to Doc I'm having a problem with trying to keep up in getting liquids in. He looked at my tongue and prescribed me Nystatin (sp) because my tongue showed thrush from being partly dehydrated. Which is why I have been feeling tired. He stressed to get the liquids down as much as possible to not end up going to emergency for IVs. Checking blood pressure and incisions, I was good to go and given the next phase #3 that consists of low-fat cottage cheese, string cheese, creamy soups, scrambled eggs, etc. Ya'll know the deal. However, in two weeks I can begin adding salmon, shrimp, any fish, tuna with low-fat dressing (tends to be dry) and crab meat.

I agree. The sleeve was definitely a tool. But it took for me to go through an emotional event; not once but twice, for me to realize I'm sabotoging my weight over senseless BS. I felt it was time to come back to life - MINES. I'm happy with my choice. Good luck to you.

    Congrats Krys!
I also used the creamed soups thinned with non fat milk. It was the only way I could survive the 2 weeks post op liquid diet. The taste of the sweet protein shakes made me sick. I couldn't tolerate them. Hope everything is still going well!

I got thrush when I was on my pre op liquid diet and also had to have medicine to get rid of it. My surgeon seemed to think it was odd and I told him I had read it on this site that other people had also had problems with thrush on their liquid diets. He said he had never heard of that but still prescribed my medicine. Let's face it, although maybe more uncommon, it is a side affect. Grown adults don't usually get thrush.

Congratulations on your revision. Keep us posted with your success. Question? Did insurance cover or did you have to pay out of pocket. My insurance has WLS as coverered but it says "once in a lifetime"

If your surgery is once in a lifetime I would go with the RNY or DS simply because they add the malabsorptive feature. Gastric band and sleeve almost always need revisions of some kind. They're step one and two in WLS. Eventually most live with a little weight regain or try and control it through diet. Those who want more move onto RNY or DS. In the US to pay out of pocket is a small fortune if not covered by insurance so many opt to go to Mexico where surgery is affordable to the working class. I had both my band and sleeve done in Mexico and will go there for my DS and don't let anyone who is unfamiliar with Mexican hospitals scare you. They're first class and can compete with American hospitals. Some say you get better service or bang for your buck in Mexico. If you have good insurance then get it done here in the US.
