    Default Horrible experience so far...

I had horrible complications, I still am. I just got out of the hospital today. I went in on Thursday. I have a blood clot in my liver portal. I can't hardly eat/drink at all, I'm in a lot of pain, I try to eat/drink and it makes me so sick. I've tried to eat/drink & its terrible. I caught an upper respiratory infection on the way home, I'm over that now. The best thing I can say is the docs here don't mind fixing you, no matter how you messed yourself up, they just want the facts so they can help. I sure hope everyone else has a better experience then I have...

How are you doing thus far? Are you able to eat/drink now? Any regrets? This is the Dr they put in my package. How was Tijuana?

That sound horrible. How did they find the blood clot? Are you on some anticoagluation meds? What options do you have for treatment?

I'm sorry to hear you had some pretty awful complications. Hopefully you are on the mend now. I was only able to sip small amounts that first week or so. You get really full really easy. Are you on any kind of anti nausea? Hope you feel better. Hugs!

Tijuana was fine, I have no complaints with Dr Hernandez or the medical team. I just had complications, but once I got home the docs here are taking care of me...

I was having really bad back pain & they did a car scan. They thought I had pancreatitis, but the bariatric surgeron here thinks it just inflammation from the sleeve. But I definitely have a blood clot & it's very painful. I'm on blood thinners & we wait till it goes away. It has improved a little so far. The bariatric surgeon says that my gallbladder needs to come out in three months when I get off the blood thinners, that has probably added to problems...

I'm so sorry Lisa! I hope you will have a fast recovery, you seem to have good doctors at home. At least they found out about the blood clot which is a good sign because sometimes it could be difficult to diagnose.
I had a PE during my last pregnancy and because I also have asthma, I thought my asthma was just kicking.. I was lucky my OBGYN was smart enough to look into it. The pain from the clot will go away but for me it took several weeks. Just try to take it easy. Also, I was taking anti-coagulant for six months and had a hard time keeping my blood test balanced each week, until I realized that what I was eating was messing up my results so they couldn't find my right dosage. They gave me a list of what not to eat but what was not on on the list was cranberry and grapefruit and I kept eating those for weeks until I understood that was the reason why my results were unbalanced. As soon as I stopped those, I was better.
Good luck in your recovery! small sips all day, try to have your proteins and vitamins as soon as possible.
I'm sending you my best wishes for a fast recovery. Take care and keep us posted!

Hi, so sorry you are having such a hard time. I hope you recover quickly and fully. Did the sleeve surgery cause the liver blood clot? That's something I've not yet heard of, complication wise. I sure hope you are out of pain and improving soon. All the best to you!

Don't give up hope. I had my surgery and ended up back in the hospital a few days later with portal vein thrombosis. 5 days later I got discharged.
About the eating and drinking....it takes time. Don't rush it. Do your best to stay hydrated.
May the rest of your path be smooth.
