    Default The Party is Over!!

    Well Sleevers,
Hope you are all having a wonderful day... 22 Days Post Op this morning, traveling the last 3 days, and this morning when I checked my weight is at 245.5, this is 1 pound increase. So the Post Op Party (Honeymoon) is over, I can no longer loose weight by sitting in the office, It's time for WORKOUT with JPMLVM, minus the spandex..... I'd say we have to find a gym, but we have a complete gym in the house, plus a hot tub, miles of walking area, Mmmm..... Problem solved! Actually my problem is with 90% Carbs gone and 1/2 a cup a coffee a day, My energy level is loooooow.... I got to kick my own butt into gear.... That or hook up an IV from the coffee machine, either plan will work... One requires a whole bunch of rubber tubing, the other a famous Taekwondo spin kick where you kick your own self in the butt. There is actually a Web Site with that exact title..... Anyway I am onto my chosen path... Got to call the pharmacy to see how much rubber tubing they got in store... Which did I choose...... You will have to find out tomorrow...
    Have a Great Day!!! J

Many people will face a stall at week 3. It's perfectly normal. Low energy at that stage is often because of dehydration. Focus on your protein and water intake, you will be fine. Don't focus on that one pound, it's nothing, it will go away. Are you cleared for work out? I was cleared at my one month visit.

    Totally echo what Sandra said.

I just wanted to add that I have been a slow loser, with stalls and monthly cycle gains, but losing I am still. Your body needs to adjust to the metabolic changes going on due to surgery. You stressing isn't going to solve or get you losing faster, in fact you will be missing on enjoying life (that's from personal experience!).

As long as you are eating a clean and nutritious diet, you are taking your supplements, you are staying hydrated, you are doing a minimal of 35 minutes of fast paced walking, and taking time for self-care you'll be a'right!

    The party ain't over!

    It's just starting!

    So enjoy the trip!

Ditto and Ditto. At your stage, you should be walking daily(if not hourly). That is your exercise. You are not healed enough nor getting enough protein to support intense activity. The week three stall happens to every person who has had this procedure. The length and start of the stall is different for everyone but don't stress over it. We all understand that you look at the number of calories you are taking in and think how could I possibly not lose weight. The body is amazing. It understands when you are starving and our DNA accounts for lean times and stores everything it possibly can to make it through those lean times. That is how the caveman survived getting a buffalo to eat every other month. Stay the course and get in your protein the weight loss will restart.

I SO agree with what everyone is saying! I saw an immense slow-down at week 3 and since that time, I am still losing, but slowly. I didn't have any real energy until week 6 and that is when I started going to the gym--though you would NOT call me a gym rat. I do what I feel I can do and get out! My weight is still dropping and I'm happy with my progress. Don't stress, just keep to the plan and it will keep coming off!

When I first started reading I thought you were at least a year post surgery. But you're only just starting! I think you were exaggerating just a bit too much lol. Your party has just begun!! Give your body some time to adjust, you're not supposed to lose it all in one month lol.

You will encounter stalls along the way. Best advice I can give you is to not stress over it. Trust the process, eat right, drink your fluids, walk and it will happen. I'm 10 months out and had several stalls along the way - I can say that I'm over 100 pounds down and feel great. The next 50 pounds will be difficult from what I can see - but I'm up for the challenge.

    Good luck.

Your party has just begun my friend, you will be amazed! Glad you are starting to exercise, but go at it slowly if you aren't used to exercising and work your way up. You don't want to do too much too soon; you could get hurt. I always recommend starting with walking, as it's easy to start slow and build up distance and speed over time. I eventually even got into running, but I'm still not a very fast runner! (Maybe that's why I run alone in the dark every morning, no one to compare myself with except me.) Good luck!

Oh boy do I know what your talking about. My surgery date was 12/12 and about New Years I hit the wall. Have only lost 7 lbs since then and it's driving me nuts. Just started on regular foods day before yesterday and I'm having to learn how much to eat. I can't believe how little I can eat of real foods so I know I'll start losing pretty quickly now. Hang in there, I feel your pain but the goal is long term.
