Default Anybody start there journey with a Bmi of 36

Had my sleeve surgery 12/22/16 and little concerned because I'm having g a hard time getting more than 2 protein drinks in a day along with trying to eat 1/2 scrambled egg for dinner and maybe some chicken broth and a few bites of cortège cheese a day.
I've only lost 12poinds and concerned it's not enough weight loss. Anybody have any thoughts.

Don't worry about what other people lose. We are not equal in front of weight loss! Follow your guidelines, you will be fine!

It's important to have enough protein and drink enough water. For me the first weeks were difficult, I even gained (water) weight at the hospital!
Then at 3/4 weeks I had my first stall.
Don't go on your scale too often, once or twice a week is enough.

Just try not to stress about it. Stress is bad for weight loss!
12 pounds is great, wait and when you will reach one month it will be more! it all adds up!
During my first three months I was not able to eat much and drinking, even my protein shake, was hard. Like you I couldn't eat one full egg. But it will get better! Take care!

Hi I was sleeved 3-1/2 years ago. There should be no concerns for worries about the amount of weight lost since your surgery. You are doing great and the weight is coming off as it should. Also, the amount of food surgeons expect us to eat in the beginning is not what our tummies can hold. Just make sure to try and get in your proteins and sip, sip, sip your water. Good luck!!!

I was about the same with what you're eating at that point. And 12 lbs is great. Think of how hard it is for someone to lose 12 lbs!!! You're doing great!

I wish we could get rid of our scale issues. We all have them and the scale isn't our friend. Being overweight we ALL are in tune with our bodies. Probably more than most folks. Are your clothes looser? Is your resting heart rate lower cause you're more fit with your exercise regimen? Is your cardio easier each workout? Stay off that darn scale...you're best measure of fitness is clothing and the mirror. I stopped weighing myself after 4 months...my 6 month checkup is the 23rd and I bet I can get within 3 pounds of guessing what I weigh...and I don't care. I'm fit, strong and like what I see in the mirror. Let the docs weigh you...you do those good things for yourself that made this lifestyle change. Lots of love to ya....Al

I think everyone is doing a great job!!! I'm leaving my scale for 5 days...it's hard, but I have to keep telling myself. I know what I need to eat and drink and I'm not on a diet.

    It's a lifestyle change.

LOL wonder how I'll do keeping that scale alone!!

I started with a BMI of 39. I'm short and fat. Doesn't take much. I had a hard time with foods the first week as well. I just took my protein shakes and would drink broth until I felt like trying again. Just continue what your doing and it will work. I had my stall at 3 weeks. I just started losing again this week.

You're doing great. Keep up the good work.

Great advice! I don't even OWN a scale. But I sure wish I had a buck for every post on here whining about what the scale says. I could retire I lost over 100% of my excess weight and kept it off for 3 years by following my diet plan. I don't need a scale to tell me what's happening with my body.....my jeans and reflection in the mirror tell me all I need to know.
