    Default i am new

    hello to all,
I previously had a lap band done in states and had multiple issues, after 7 years had it removed due to continual dilated espogheus. now 6 months later I am back at my beginning weight from 2009. so disappointed in myself, nervous and excited to have a second chance to be healthier and slim with gastric sleeve.

Welcome WendyMarie62! The sleeve is amazing. I was originally considering the lap band until I did my research. Now I see that there is a lot of people on here that are sleeve after lap band. I am glad that you are going to get your sleeve. You still have to work your program but it is definitely doable. And no need to have constant visits to the doctor to adjust your band. Do you have any questions? Everyone is awesome on here and more than willing to share their experiences and knowledge. We are all different but odds are someone has been where you are!

I appreciate your vote of confidence. I do believe once I can get through the surgery and not have all the complications that came with the band I will be okay. when the surgeon removed the band he said I was not a candidte for the sleeve, I was devastated. but after talking with several local women that have use weight loss agents and had procedure done in Tijuana, MX and discussed their issues and procedures, one very similar to my situation, and they have all had a successful journey. So Im excited and trying to be positive after so many years of issues.

There are some issues you will deal with when you have the sleeve but since you have already been through a lap band surgery I am sure that you will do just fine. I think the best part of the sleeve is not having any foreign object left inside of you. You may deal with nausea, some pain, gas build up in the chest from the surgery (walk, walk, walk for this to dissipate), only being able to take in very small amounts, but overall I would say for most people the complications are mild and don't last long. I went back to work a week after surgery but I do have a desk job. I only experienced severe nausea and pain for about an hour after surgery but I always have a hard time with anesthesia. I stayed just one night in the hospital. I only had to use my pain meds and anti nausea meds a few times that first week and never again. I will feel nauseous if I eat too fast or too much. It really only takes doing it once or twice to learn to slow down and let your tummy have time to react to what it is getting. Well we are here for you whenever you need support or have any questions!

Welcome! I just had my sleeve done on Friday and just arrived home tonight. My main complaint is the bloated gassy feeling but I notice it gets better each day. Good luck and yes weight loss agents are very helpful. I started out with them but switched to the dr and clinic my sister in law had hers done at, my mother in law came with me since she went with my sister in law. It made me feel better going to the same place someone I knew went to But from what I can tell others have had success with WLA

Eight months. 180 Total lost to date. 71 pounds
