Wondering anyone's thoughts on Halo Top ice cream.
On paper it looks good, but I don't like stevia, I find it gives an after taste to everything. Plus there's not much protein, a little more compare to other brands of ice cream but I'd rather have greek yogourt with fruits to have something sweet.
I'm sure it's ok once in a while for a treat...but not something to have every week..

I tried it. I think the consistency is good. I think the taste is good. I also think it is something someone might want as an occasional treat. I have not felt compelled to go buy it again. But I am glad to know it is there since it is a quality product. There are many flavors and calorie ranges. Many have 240 calories and 24 g protein for the whole pint (not sure how you could eat a whole pint) which is significantly less than other brands of ice cream. A half cup serving is 70 cal of many of the flavors and 6g of protein. The sweetness comes from erythritol (sp?) in part. It is in the mannitol family but it does not produce any gastrointestinal upset like most sugar alcohols.
If you google halo top you can find stores in your area that carry it. Many don't carry all the flavors. You can have it shipped to you also.

I can only speak for myself and for ME it'd be one of those slippery slope/trigger type foods so I will avoid it. I have seen other people who eat it as a treat once a month ish and love it though.
I've tried halo top. I tried a few nibbles ( and I mean tiny nibbles) here and there of the chocolate mocha and it was really tasty. But when I tried to eat more than a few bites it really upset my stomach. I also tried artic zero and I thought it tasted bad.
