Equity credit to pay - Anyone familiar

I received an equity line of credit on my house to have the funds for surgery. (Self pay in Mexico)
Is anyone familiar with line of credits to help me process some questions. Yes Ive asked my credit union but
some things Im just not getting. Tring to adjust for the monthly bill.

Unfortunately, I don't know how that works. Hope you're able to get the funds. If not, you could always set up a savings account with automatic withdrawals to the credit union. When I was part of a credit union they had these "Christmas savings account."

Originally I was thinking about borrowing the funds through my credit cards but then decided to use my end of year bonus, savings, and a gift from my hubby. All in all, it's costing me about 8k.
