    Question Always empty

My date was 11/29 I am down 36 pounds from surgery and 60 pounds total. Been happy I made this choice, but its not easy at all. Been feeling both full and hungry at the same time. Have an empty pit in stomach most of the time even after filling up. Fighting to get over 60g of protein in a day which has been tough, but seems to get easier every day. Anyone else having similar issue?

I had my surgery on 12/7/16 and I have been able to get in all the protein. I'm drinking 3 premier shakes a day and eating about 1.5 eggs a day and eating a Greek yogurt plus what ever other foods I eat daily

My surgery is on the 5th. Have you tried a acid reducer?

Are you taking an antacid? If not, doing so would reduce the amount of stomach acid your stomach is producing, which mimics the feeling of hunger.

Many of us took surgeon-prescribed PPI antacids post-op -- for 4-6 months, to let the sleeve heal faster, to avoid heartburn (reflux, GERD, etc.), and to reduce the feelings of faux-hunger that too much tummy acid causes.

    Just a thought.

Congrats on your surgery. You probably are also work working on it but be sure you are getting plenty of water as well. My counselor reminded me over and over that some of my hunger pangs is caused by dehydration and the water is the hardest to get it. As your stomach shrink things will eventually feel normal.

I am on prilosec, past couple of days I have focused on water intake and that seems to be helping. Thank you all.

Yes I have had similar issues. I have been having a harder time with water but recently started brewing green tea with berries and adding a little Splenda. Then I make add water and make it into an iced tea. Funny thing is I can drink this very easily and get quite a bit of fluids in. With water I can't seem to do that. So that has helped me immensely. I tried the Crystal Lite that my nutritionist recommended but to me they were too sweet and left an after taste in my mouth from the sweetener. Maybe it was just too much sweetener for me?
