how long until the gas pain ends?

All, I just got home from having my sleeve done. everything went great! The only pain I have is that dang gas. Its pretty uncomfortable, but I wouldn't call it painful. I am however extremely happy to get rid of it!

Walk, walk, walk and sip, sip, sip. It doesn't last too long. I think mine was around a week or two. Seems like a distant memory now. I never had to use gas x or anything like that. I did have to use Prilosec for the false hunger pangs which is actually a form of heartburn.

Moving does help, also I found a warm shower really helpful too. It should not last more than 8 or 10 days so don't worry. It will be over soon!

The gas will be gone in a week, tops.

It's just the CO2 they pumped your thorax full of so they could navigate navigate around inside your body while doing the laproscopic surgery. Since you're a pretty big guy, they may have really blown you up.

Congrats on what otherwise sounds like an easy-peasy surgery!

Mine lasted about 2-3 days. Walk Walk Walk, and dissolvable GasX strips. Put on tongue......Good luck.

I just woke up and less gas pain. But honestly, the worst pain I feel is where they intubated me. My throat is killing me from the scraping of the intubation tube or something down my throat. I would feel a heck of a lot better if that stopped hurting. Still getting used to not eating much. I also wish I didn't need this drain tube coming out of my side. It makes sleeping pretty difficult for me.

All told though, It's been remarkably easy. Not very painful (I didn't use any morphine past a few hours post surgery)

Yes. I had a very sore throats from the intubation. I think that past a few days later. I'd say 5 tops. Thankfully I didn't need a drain tube. When do they take it out.

The nurse said that my dr always sends people home with a drain tube. It gets taken out on my next visit in three days. Not sure why he always does this, but its not a big deal.
