Where are good places to find reviews on the doctors and hospitals? I would like to see current stats ... good and bad...

I am not sure about stats but ObesityHelp has reviews. You can start by narrowing it by checking Dr's in your area. Once you read the reviews, follow up by searching sites like ************ and here. Then I would also search YouTube and other social media outlets.

Thanks, I have looked on you tube and searches, found a few bad reviews on one dr and none on another...

I posted this somewhere else, but I find it impossible for any given Dr to not have 1 or 2 bad reviews. I would stay clear if the particular reviews involved any deaths or serious complications. I would stay clear of anything that sounded negligent. It's not to discount anyone's experience but some people will complain about the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Paris, oh the feathered pillows are too soft, lol. So take the reviews with a grain of salt. Once you've identified what your priorities are search for someone who offers that. Maybe bedside manner and aftercare is more important to you than his research accolades and that he's part of the medical faculty. For someone else it may be the reverse. You'll need to really figure that part out first. Then you can also ask your patient coordinator to provide you with former patients as well.

Yes, I understand that no dr can have a 100% success rate with no complications and there is a possibility of death with any surgery... I would just like to see if there is a pattern development with certain doctors, I had just ran into a wall with trying to research them,particularly the ones outside the us....

I get you. I too am headed to Mexico and at first considered the Dominican Rep. Mexico was the less expensive option but with readily available information on a variety of surgeons. The figured out I would go to Cancun instead of Tijauna. This was based on me coming from the east coast. Once I figured that part out there were really 3 or 4 surgeons that work out of Cancun. Of those 4, I searched blogs, posts, reviews, etc from every available source including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram. I did find a bad review of my surgeon. So I had a chance to talk to my surgeon and ask all the questions. I am particularly nervous about a leak, but it appears that is something that can happen weeks after your surgery. So I need to insure I have that back up care when I get home. I am a revision surgery, I tried to focus on Dr's who had significant experience removing lap bands.
