For post-op was there anything that was helpful?
A certain style cup to help sip? straw or no straw.
Containers that helped measure food?
No straws while your stomach is recovering.
You don't need anything for your post op recovery, but once you get home make sure you have some small dishes.
Your eyes are going to be bigger than your belly, so using smaller bowls, plates helps you serve up a smaller portion.
You probably want to get yourself a protein shake that you like.
Immediately after the procedure the one ounce medicine cups that are used in the hospital are very useful, it takes the pain out of having to measure as I'm sure you'll probably be concentrating on controlling any discomfort. My instructions were to drink around 4 ounces, so those were very helpful. The nurses are usually very willing to give you a bunch of them before you leave. "Pure Protein" cans or "Premier Protein" boxes were my choice since they are a lot thinner and easier to swallow.
At this point, I pack my lunches in a Japanese "Bento Box"; with which I also purchased food separators that are portioned for small sizes.
I bought about 100 of those little plastic cups with lids that you get to-go sauce in from restaurants. You can just throw them away when you are done. They were a big help for me when I was starting out because I could make egg salad or tuna salad and split them up into the cups and put them in the fridge. That way there is no prep, you just grab and go. Plus you can make more than one thing at a time so you don't have to eat all of something before you move on to something else lol
Good luck to you!!
I didn't use any special containers but the above are all good suggestions. When I went back to work after a week I'd bring premixed 11oz protein shakes. It would take me a while to drink them but it never was a problem. My big thing was ensuring I always had something with me for eating/drinking so I could make good choices. I still make sure I have something just in case and I'll be 8 weeks out on Thursday. I always have a pouch of tuna, a protein bar, and a bottle of water. Makes life much easier.
Get a kirchen scale for sure. You'll be measuring your portions for a long time

I just remembered that I bought a butt load of 4 oz containers at the grocery store. I weigh the food, and put it in those little guys, then freeze it. I put a piece of tape with the wt written on it if it's something like beef or chicken. If it's done thing like soup or stew, I know it's 4 ozs.
