I just had surgery on Wednesday Dec 14th. And I am hungry all the time. I am drinking the shakes but my stomach still growls. I wish I knew what to do.
Candice2016, I had mine on the 13th; are you drinking enough water? I noticed that when I FOCUSED on trying to make my hydration count (64 oz of all liquids), I worried that I would stretch my new stomach, and could only focus on foods I get to eat at the 5th week!
Being hungry usually happens when I'm home alone. Piddling about the house, trying to be busy. Get out and socialize! Go to the mall or big-box department store and "people-watch"! (Leave your money at home)
Don't cheat yourself. Stay the course. It's working for me :-D
Just keep following the rules, you will be fine. I was always told if I was hungry to have another shake. And 2 weeks after surgery you'll get to start soft food, the will help. You can do it!
You should be having a shake every four hours. Don't worry so much the amount but that you are doing it every four hours. As long as you meet your protein and liquids goals for the day. It seems like you are constantly drinking shakes but if you drink as much as you can in 30 minutes then save the rest for later you will be able to measure your intake properly.
