I only hear about some people having the drain ports. I've seen videos done so much research and also on here. Does everyone have to have the drain in their arm or is it just some people

I had no drains at all. Just incisions that were glued together.
2 years, 3 months later, I can't find all my scars. And that includes the 4 extra incisions I had from a gall bladder operation 4 weeks after VSG surgery.

Ok thank you so much I don't see my surgeon again until I get the rest of the 25 lbs off and that's been a question that stays in my head
I had a drain that was on of the left side of my stomach.. it collected any extra blood from the operation.
They drained it daily. I did not collect a lot of blood ever. It was removed 2 days later. It was held there by a suture/s.
No biggie. Some drs do some don't.
Ask a head of time.
I haven't had the sleeve yet, but I did have a double mastectomy three years ago. I had four drains, they're not a big deal, they don't even hurt or anything. They're just a little awkward and weird. It also does not hurt when they pull the drain out, don't even worry about the drain. It might seem like kind of a big deal, but it's not... Hope this info helps!
