Default Muscel pain and feeling full

Hi everyone, I am 6 days post OP. I had a 10 year old lap-band removed due to slippage and decided to do a revision surgery to the sleeve. I had wonderful results with my band and lost over 150 lbs. So, when my band slipped after 10 years, I was total devastated. I am completely happy with my decision and look forward to maintaining the hard work to loose and maintain my weight over the past 10 years.

Now that I am in my recover stage, I feel wonderful and I'm even back at work and doing my normal daily activities, while staying within the lift, pull and push guide lines. I have two concerns. First, when I sit up from laying down in bed, turn to the left or bend over to pick something up I get a pain in my stomach area. I was wondering if any one has experienced the same kind of muscle pain. I probably would not be as concerned except the day after surgery I had a tickle in my throat which caused me to go into a couching fit which hurt like no tomorrow. Since I have not seen anyone else mention muscle pain, I hope I did not compromise or tear my sleeve while it was still in the newly closed stage. Second concern, I am still on my clear liquid diet. I find that I have not had a full feeling from drinking to much liquid or eating jello. Is this also common, since it is purely liquid and once I start on the Full liquid diet in a few days I will have the full stomach feeling.

Thank you in advance for your response and helping set my mind at ease.

I had pain for at least the first week. Even climbing up into my bed hurt. I actually slept in my recliner. So I would say it's totally normal, and won't last long.

I was on protein shakes starting the day after surgery. You won't feel full until you start eating real food, the liquids just go right through your stomach. Just wait for that first bite of chicken, you'll feel fullness, I promise!

    Best of luck to you!

I am 1 week out. I also have pain on my left side of my stomach when I turn to sleep on that side. I just have to hold it while I turn. I think its normal. Also, I never feel full ever. I feel like the liquids are just running through me, which they are lol. So it all sounds normal to me. I'm sure if something was wrong you would know it, fever, stabbing pains. etc. Good luck, you're doing great.

Sometimes back pain is a sign of dehydration!

I had abdominal pain for almost a month sitting up, twisting, any initial movement. After talking with the surgeon, she said it was likely that an unmapped nerve was clipped during surgery. It was only in one incision but it hurt enough to make me think I tore something or had an infection in an incision. The surgeon told me there are so many unmapped nerves in the area. So you may want to ask the surgeons office just to make sure.

Hope you start feeling better. I am getting better with turning and sleeping on my side. I still do not feel full, maybe in a couple of weeks when I can start some solid foods.

Feeling a lot better. Although I can contact my doc at any time, I opted to have my surgery in Mexico at half the cost. FYI it was a wonderful experience, and I would do it again.
