Four month and a week update....

What a crazy roller coaster ride, both physically as well as emotionally this has been for me.
66 pounds lighter, YTD. One day re hospitalization for dehydration two weeks post surgery.....
trying to control real as well as head hunger....you all know the hurdles.

I've been off of protein supplements on the advice of my NUT for several months, but I've
continued my 1.5 cups of Fairlife enhanced protein fat free milk with my morning coffee.
Easily exceeding my protein goals and eating much cleaner than before.

Had several plateaus that made me insane. Still seeing NWMH Bariatric Guru Dr. Robert
Kushner as well as my Psychologist every 5-6 weeks. Continued decreases in insulin needs,
not to mention using 6 fewer prescribed drugs. My WL guru believes that due to my history of
20 years as an insulin dependent diabetic, my Diabetes may never completely go into
remission, but half way to my goal weight, I'm already using 1/3 to 1/4 of the insulin I
previously took.

66 years old, working six 12 hour days a week I'm my kitchen, surrounded by temptation,
but feeling great! Making mostly good dietary choices and reaping the benefits. Last week,
I walked 36 miles at work.

Gone from a size 60 chef jacket to 54, and just ordered 52's!

Thanksgiving food consumption will be a challenge, but I'm ready to adapt and overcome.

Congratulations for your lost pounds keep the work that will succeed. I just had my surgery 9'days ago amd its been hard struggling wt mental hunger and as soon as i eat i get full hope to be as successful as you in this journey. Good luck ! ��

Good job! I'm originally from Chicago and one of the many things I miss about that town is the food. Every visit requires great self control on my part.
Sounds like you have established a great support system that works for you. Very important and something I lack.

Hello Ron!!
I'm glad to see you are doing amazing!!! wonderful news about the insulin! Don't worry too much about plateau...more to come! I had many many since month 7...but each time I look at what I lost since the beginning and it does feel much better than looking at just the week or month. The most important is to look at the big picture!

36 miles a day ....that's insane
Your industry not many realize is a time of pure no sleep , exhausted and feed the masses.. who get to celebrate holidays .
Your job is to provide.. every holiday.. Christmas- New Years- Valentines Day-Mothers Day- Thanksgiving- Birthdays etc.
Those are the money makers at the expense of the chefs for sure.
Times before no one would work on Thanksgiving.. that's old school and less profit.
Also the better your are the less sleep that you get.
I'm sure you are a gem Ron.
