Had my surgery today

Came home today. Surgery done at 8 discharge at 4. During X-ray for leak test they said I had a lot of swelling, so dye wasn't going down all the way. They waited another 30 mins and then took one again and. Learned me. I'm in so much pain. Can't drink anything. Chest hurts so much. They said its gas trying to escape but it's been several hours already. I'm in so much pain

Wow, who is this doctor? That's downright malpractice to discharge you if you can't get fluids down. Definitely get to the ER if you still can't drink tomorrow. Then find a good lawyer.

As for the gas pain, all that will help is to get up and walk. A lot. The pain can last for days. Did they send you home with any pain meds?

That gas can migrate up into your upper back and shoulders and really be a pain, even after a week. Shoulder massage helped me a little bit along with a heating pad. You'll feel better tomorrow, and get better as each day passes. Hang in there.

Please be careful. Hydration is so important. I ended up back in the ER after 5 days for 5 more days because I could not get my fluids in. Everything in my body was locked up from a reaction to the anesthetic. Pain the first few nights in normal but you should have been admitted and left on a pain pump with an IV to make sure you were taken care of.

This statement alone got me through the last few days. Oh man the gas was painful. I'm doing better now, but pooping a lot lol. I don't know where its coming from, I can barely get down 1.5 shakes a day!! Thanks for all the support guys, now I just need the scale to move down!

Just wanted to update. Doing better, most of the chest/gas pains are gone, but I'm getting hungry like crazy. Stats are as follows:

11/2/16: 333lbs
11/17/16 (Day of surgery): 323lbs
11/23/16: 308lbs

Any advice? I'm so hungry. Encouraged by the scale, but my self proclaimed "fat-itis" has kicked in. Just not happy with the progress even though I know it's pretty decent, and terrified it will stop tomorrow.
