    Question Neuropathy

Over the past 6 months or so, I am experiencing increased level of neuropathy in my feet and legs. Really hoping that this will get back to normal or at least lessen with the weight loss after surgery. My A1C's have been very low, last one 5.8 so not sure why this is occurring. Any of you that have already had the sleeve have any words of wisdom for me???

I would suggest seeing your md. Vitamin deficiencies can cause this. Folic acid, b 12, or Thyroid too, can cause these feelings.

I have had numbness and tingling in both feet for 23 years. I was initially diagnosed with MS in 1994, but my neuro I saw last summer said it was not MS. (It's a L-O-N-G story...)

I had the sleeve surgery 2 months ago, have lost 77 pounds and the tingling and numbness have intensified around the clock, beginning about 2 months ago. I saw my neuro today, first time since last fall and I told him about my feet. He said he thinks I have neuropathy. He said I am now due again for another nerve conduction study (I had one last July) because he thinks it's a B 12 deficiency due to the WLS surgery. After the nerve conduction study, he wants to do labs for B12 (even though my surgeon is doing all the blood work up in July.) I seriously do not think it's related... I think it's TOO soon, and I am taking ALL of my vitamins and supplements. I could see it happening maybe in a year or so after surgery, but I think it's too soon. My feet have been numb like I said since 1994.

    Anyone else experienced this?
