    Default Struggling with pre-op diet

Surgery in less than two weeks. They told me I need to lose 10lbs or I might get rescheduled. I'm dizzy and tired everyday, trying my best to do two shakes and one small meal, but with work and life stress everyday, I'm really struggling. Advice?

I'd add another shake. You shouldn't be getting dizzy. In you small meal be sure you have your protein, a chicken breast, salmon, whatever.

I was lucky and only had to do the pre-op diet (liquids only) for 5 days. It wasn't fun, but it was worth it. I was told if I was hungry to have another shake.

    Good luck!

I don't know how far in to your preop you are, but The first 3-4 days were the worst for me as far as physical effects go (light headed, bad headache, nauseous, weak, fuzzy thinking). After that it wasn't too bad. So keep hanging in there. I understand the pressure...I had to lose 5% of my body weight (12 pounds) or they would not have done my surgery. Two weeks of 3 protein shakes and unlimited leafy greens and I ended up losing 22 pounds instead of 12. Just that much less to have to lose postop!
