Choosing a date

Looking for advice. I'd love to schedule a surgery date asap but have several trips in the next 5 months. I'm not sure if I should wait until late spring or if I'd be okay to travel. How long should I wait after surgery to travel comfortably and enjoy a vacation?

Healing is one thing, but do you want to be drinking only liquids on your trip? Also , in the liquid stage, I haven't had much energy and wouldn't really have felt like much sightseeing and touring. Then, comes the soft foods stage which lasts longer and those are quite limited as well. I, personally, wouldn't think about a trip for at least a month.

I have not had the surgery yet, but from what I understand, it may be important to have convenient and immediate access to a bathroom.

I would say you probably don't want to travel during the first month or so after surgery - but after that, I think you'd be fine (just eating less!) - good luck!

My doctor warned against traveling in the first 30 days just in case there was a leak or some other complication. not that another doctor could not fix the issue but she already knew the case. I am now 2.5months surgery and sitting in a sandals resort in Jamaica and loving every second of it. so.......
