My name is Steven and I just had my sleeve done on Tuesday, October 25th, along with an upper hernia corrected.
Spent one night in hospital and was able to leave the next day in the evening.
I have come to find that my personal savor is JELLO. I actually have a routine where I fell up 10 little coffee cups with the jello and add a spoon upright -- and place in refrigerator. I can eat about one jello (box) a day.
Slept in my own bed the first 24 hours arriving home --- and IMMEDIATELY my aches and sores went away --- as my hospital bed was not comfortable and the pillows were thin --- so I brought two plus/Down feather pillows from home upon checking into the hospital.
All in All, I am doing 'on par' as I follow my surgeon orders to the 'T' ---- in fact he originally stated I don't get answers/information from this forum but him, instead.
Every time i wake up out of bed, I would walk around the house for 10 mnutes, then have some jello, swallow some pills and at least, 4 times a day, I would make my progein shake with the 25 grams of protein in it.
My partner who is a Masters in finance, even dreated me a simple spreadsheet that allows me to 'click' on what I just ate (jello, water, Protein shake etc) and it calculates the total calories, ouncez and protein in my body. That way I don't have to figure out the number.
Leave it up to a brilliant bank financier to come with this type of mechanize, which allows me to be precise ---- and I can' take the results in hand to my next doctor appointment.
So, so far I am satisfied and have lost 5.6 pounds since Sunday night. The first night i came home I weighed 4 pounds more then when I went into the hospital...... but all those iv bags full of liquids slowly 'peed out' once I came home and in my own environment.
I had a 45 minute drive home --- I could not vision myself being on a plane flying from Mexico back to the states after having the surgery down there. As I need several pillows around my body in the seat --- and I just could not see myself sitting in a tight airline seat.
So for my first update I am pleased and on par. I do NOT feel the missing 3/4 of my stomach pouch that was removed, the stomach area just seems normal to me.
