OMG. Six months?!?!?! That's craziness!! Definitely keep me posted on your progress. Thanks.
I'm feeling a lot better. The TT looks great, very happy with those results. My legs are still swollen and I had to have a seroma drained from my left leg. I'm trying to be patient but I want to see the end result now. I made the mistake of measuring my thighs about a week ago and they were an inch bigger than before surgery. My PS was surprised when I told him that and said he removed quite a bit of skin from each thigh and it has to be swelling still. For his sake it better be.
I hope you will feel better very soon! Sometimes recovery after surgery can take a long time. I had a lump removed a few years ago and it was swelling for at least six months.
For your legs, are you wearing any kind of compression hosiery? A friend who had surgery on her legs was wearing it for almost a year and she did say it made a big difference, if she didn't wear it one day she could see it becoming puffy almost immediately. May be you could try that.
I do wear compression stockings when I fly more than 8 hours. If I can find the right size for my heavy calves it does help a lot. At some point I had some made especially for me on my measures. Since I lost weight they don't fit any longer but I might get some new ones very soon because my legs got puffy during my last trip and it was only a 2 hours flight.
Take care!

Hi Sandra, I have stopped wearing my compression garment after my 6 week checkup because it was just too much to take on and off. It stopped above my knees and I don't think it was that tight around my thighs. I may have to see if I can find some compression leggings. I did notice swelling in my calves, feet and ankles over the past few weeks, but it looks like that is subsiding.
I had some pants that were tight on my legs right after surgery that I can now wear, so I know the swelling is going down. I'm just not happy with how my thighs still look and I'm hoping to see some additional improvement. I guess in my mind, I pictured I would have these tiny thighs after surgery and I can see now that was not realistic. I was hoping for that "thigh gap", but I'm not a super model and that is probably not going to happen.
My doctor told me that if I got down to 220 pounds I should get my stomach done, I got about 8 pounds to go. I am nervous also, I usually bounce back pretty quickly from procedures, but this one seem extra scary to me for some reasons. Any regrets and how much extra skin did they remove if you don't mind sharing that information.
I do not have any regrets with the tummy tuck. I love my new flat tummy. He removed a total of 4.5 pounds of skin, but that included my thighs too as I had them both done at the same time. You wouldn't think that is a lot, but my stomach before the tuck and now, is a huge difference. I honestly do not think the tummy tuck was that bad. Sure there is soreness, but I stopped taking pain pills a few days after the surgery. And the main reason I took them at all was because of the thigh lift. That was the most painful part of the surgery. Good luck to you.

"Today is another day to get it right!"
Hi Shirl, I do have scars, but they have faded a LOT! I used some scar cream the PS gave me and then also bought some from CVS. I have always healed really well, and expect the scars to fade even further. They are smooth now and slightly pinkish/red, so if I wore shorts, you would probably notice them if you were really looking. The tummy tuck scar would not show if I wore a swimsuit. Now if I'm on a nude beach, all bets are off.
Thighs are doing ok. Scarring has really diminished. I do wish the PS would have taken more skin though. I just had my arm lift on the 19th of April and they are TIGHT! I wish my thighs could have been done that tight. But people say they can see that my thighs are smaller. I don't really see a difference. I have body issues anyway and still myself as a bigger person, so that could be part of the issue
If you're not happy with the thighs wait a year to see how they look. Some girls on Realself say they go back for a mini-redo when they get another nip and tuck on another body part or they ask the surgeon for a discount to perfect the nip and tuck they're not happy with. Sometimes gals say you need a 2nd surgery to perfect what you really want. This frequently happens with lipo, tummy tucks and BBL's. I knew someone who had an arm lift and one arm came out perfect and the other one she wasn't happy with so the PS did a mini-redo on the area that wasn't perfect.
