    Default Holy crap!

I don't know how it happened with all of eating of a bunch of cake and cookies this past month...

But I lost 3 pounds! My total is now 150 pounds lost! I'd kiss my sleeved stomach if I could. I am SO grateful for this surgery and the support I've been able to find on this website for 4 years. You guys and gals are wonderful!

    Weight Loss:
6 Month Requirement with Nut = 41 pounds
    1st mo = 19 pds
    2nd mo = 19 pds
    3rd mo = 9 pds
    4th mo = 16 pds
    5th mo = 11 pds
    6th mo = 9 pds
    7th mo = 4 pds
8th mo = 1 pd (bad food choices)
    9th mo = 4 pds
    10th mo = 3 pds
    11th mo = 3 pds
    12th mo = 4 pds
    13th Mo = 3 pds

Hi, I'm just wondering but have you ever experienced hot flashes, insomnia or hair loss after the surgery? I heard about these side effects from the sleeve and really worried about getting them. Thank you!

Just hair loss for me. My hair was of average thickness before and I'd say that it's lost about 1/3 of it's thickness. I have naturally curly hair, so thankfully I'm tge only one who knkws the difference. But hair loss is just the body's way of trying to deal with the surgery, so I know it'll grow back eventually Good luck to you!

    Ashley,

I can only imagine dreading getting on the scale after making not so great decisions, I am so proud of you for getting on that scale good or bad.

How are you doing with your budget and groceries? has it gotten better?

Do you have any strategic plans to curb the cake and cookies binging?

The theory is that when we've been good and careful with our eating for awhile, our bodies go into survival mode thinking "well, if all I get is 1000 cals every day, I'd better be ready for when disaster strikes, and hold onto what I've got".

Then, we give the body a sudden burst of calories, carbs and sugars, and the body goes "well I guess there's no impending doom after all! I'll let go of a little of what I was storing."

I think that's kinda how the very low carb diet works, too. You're super duper strict with carbs for a few days, then you have a high carb day, then go back to very low carb days again. I think that's how body builders eat when they're "cutting".
