Sraebaer, you look positively gorgeous! I'm nine days from my surgery, and seeing your photos makes me even more motivated. You look amazing!
First of all, 35 is YOUNG!! But we do have something in common, we both were working out while heavy. I was always a walker (even a runner before I had children), have been my whole life. I think that's what the difference between us an others sleevers may be, we were already used to exercising. Many overweight people never exercised and dread the thought of starting.
My advice for people just starting the process, even before surgery, is to get out and walk, however far you can go. (Baby steps!) Make a habit of it. It will be your lifesaver after surgery.
Thank you for posting and sharing your journey! I hope you come back and post again at your 4 yr surgiversary! It helps those like me who are still exploring and making their final decisions to see what the long term journey will look like. There aren't enough of those stories out there! I have seen a lot of the 1 and 2 year stories, but not much as you get further out. I don't know if it's because folks are active and living their lives now and no longer need the support of an online group like this or if the weight has come back and are ashamed to post now. I imagine it's a mix of both, but stories like these give me hope that this is the right decision! Thank you again!
I imagine it's a mix of both too azapolya. I find these boards still help keep me on track, even after 3 years.
