    Default popcorn.....when?

I'm too lazy to look up when it's ok to start eating popcorn.

Whats the general concensus? I want to go to the movies and have popcorn!

Popcorn is a nutritionally bankrupt, high-carbohydrate slider food and really should be avoided by those of us who have had weight loss surgery. However, if you feel you can successfully moderate your intake of popcorn, here is a resourceful article on how to eat it after weight loss surgery.

I have not had movie/cinema popcorn, but I have made at home with my hot air popcorn popper. I served myself a cup at a time, and had to cut off at 4cups or else I would have eaten more.

One of my guilty pleasures pre op was a bowl of air popped popcorn with a dash of curry and a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc. I still hope to indulge in both when I'm at my goal and maintaining.

I believe air popped popcorn can be a healthy snack choice even after Gastric Sleeve Surgery unless it triggers you to eat compulsive and add all sorts of unhealthy toppings and flavorings. I happen to just love it plain with a dash of various spices.

Here is an article on the nutritional value you can get from plain air popped popcorn http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/air-...lthy-3550.html

Pam, you're really NOT going to like my answer.

Eating popcorn at the movies is:

    1) eating mindlessly
    2) eating unmindfully
    3) grazing
    4) eating pure carbs (no protein associated with it at all)
    5) invites drinking soda along with it -- and washing it down quickly, leaving your stomach ready for more popcorn.

    Want the last reason?

    6) You won't believe how many calories are in that popcorn! Here's the whole scoop: http://www.thedailymeal.com/how-unhe...heater-popcorn

I guess I am ashamed to admit it but I eat popcorn whenever I go to the movies. I always get the five dollar kids pack and can't finish it all. I really enjoy the theaters that have kettle corn, I know it is not so good for me but I do not go often and do not really eat that much. I can eat and not drink but I do not think I could go to the movies and not eat popcorn....

I had movie theater popcorn last weekend. I'm 2 and 1/2 months out. It was delicious, and I didn't have any problems with it afterward. In moderation, I think it is fine. Did I mention it was delicious?

I go to the movies once every 6 months or so. More during the summer. There are done good movies out now, and I really do love theatre popcorn.

I blame my husband for this! I never bought concession stuff til we started dating!

I keep popcorn here but maybe - big maybe - every 6 months will I pop some. I have gone to the actual theater 3 times in 7 years so not a big movie goer. Last time I went was on Christmas Day to see a movie mostly cause I was bored and I had a small bag of it - ate about 1/4 of it and then BLEH just too much
