    Default Vitamin recommendation

    Hi!

Can anyone recommend vitamins that can be store bought at like target or walmart? I don't want to have to buy them from my dr all the time they are so expensive not too mention I want to be able buy them on the weekend if need be. Any help would be great!

I take the equate woman's vitamin (even take on an empty stomach with no problems and was recommended by a post sleever), biotin 5000 mcg and Vitamin d3 5000 IU. I am pre-op but want to be physically and mentally prepared. Keep me posted to see what you decide on. I will add in my extra calcium closer to surgery day.

I use mens multi vitamin from walgreens. I also use calcium, iron, and b12 sublingual. All cheap walgreens/CVS vitamins. Sometimes walgreens has a BOGO and I stock up. My blood work has come back normal several times.

I have used Centrum chewable multivitamins, which cost about $8 to $10 for a bottle of 100 pills. I currently take 2 Flintstone complete multivitamins each day, which can also be obtained cheaply at any Walmart or Target.

Be sure to avoid the gummy multivitamins since they are incompletely formulated. To ensure a gummy texture, the manufacturers remove minerals that we need such as iron.

I also take a daily vitamin D, B12 complex, and calcium citrate. I take my vitamin A three times a week and a megadose of sublingual vitamin B12 once weekly. My lab work is good.

Centrum. I have vitamins sitting on the counter, but I rarely take them, and my labs were fine. If you're eating a wide variety of foods, any multivitamin should be just fine.

From Walmart : Flinstones multi, Alive multi for woman or prenatal from Equate. Flinstones are my fav so far, vitamins make me sick sometimes after a while and I never had issues with Flinstones. But I order most of my vitamins online since I live in Asia and when I'm out of stock from what I did bring from my last trip, I order online from Vitacost or Iherb. I like the Vitacost brand for D and B12/B complexe (they also have it in organic and it's cheap compare to other brands). I'm chronically D and iron deficient (even before the sleeve, it just got worth a few months ago) so I take Rainbow Light, Complete Iron, Mini-Tabs twice a day, works better than the meds my doc gave me and it doesn't make me sick.

I also atill take Flintstones complete every day-yay, Kevin!! My dr recommended them too! I take 2 of them, plus iron, B complex, and D because I tend to run low there. I also tend toward being anemic. this seems to be a good combo for me, and the old if-it-ain't-broke motto is one I live with! lol.

I wrote a post in the nutrition forum this morning about how Vitamin B12 in pill form is basically useless once you are sleeved. You absolutely have to go sublingual (under the tongue) or injections to get Vitamin B12.
