Can't believe its been 5 years already!

On September 13, 2011 I made the choice to permanently change my life and had my gastric sleeve. That was the day I chose to make major changes and as such I see it as a sort of birthday. That was the day I was reborn going from the caterpillar I was to the butterfly that I am today.
Its amazing to me everyday to look in a mirror and see the person I am now. I know I have taken control of my life in so many ways and I have to keep a handle on it always! My life is mine to do with as I see fit no matter what others think! Next step is to become the phoenix that I know lives with in me!

I am now making more major life changes getting out of the bad relationship I have been in for the last 6 years and becoming a single working mom. I am getting off of disability and rejoining the world in every way that I can. I couldn't be happier for the changes I have made and for the decision to take control of my life all those years ago!

I have always found your story to be an inspiration! So glad you shared it for all of us! I can't help but cheer for you that you have found the courage to get out of a bad relationship! I just got divorced after 27 years of an empty marriage, and am dating an amazing guy. Where it goes, who knows?
