    Question 1 month post-op questions?

    Hi everyone!

I just wanted to post a little update. As of this week I have been cleared by my doctor to slowly start to try new foods and see how they feel. Almost everything I've tried has gone down smoothly and caused no real problems. The exception being eating a very small piece of steak (made me throw up) and scrambled eggs are still not going down so smooth. I constantly have to remind myself to slow down when eating and to not drink while eating, it really does fill you up very quickly. I'm eating about 4 times a day which is good according to my doctor and I am about 30 pounds down.

I start a new job next week and I'm worried about keeping my energy up. I'm so tired all the time I hope I'm able to keep up.

I also am worried about packing lunches. I'm still in the trial stages so I don't want to try anything new while at work. Any suggestions for healthy small snacks to bring with me for those times or any suggestions on which fruits or health portable things to try first that would be easy to bring to work?? Besides protein shakes because oh man it's gonna be a while before I ever want to drink another protein drink.

    Thanks in advance!!

Cheese sticks. Thinly sliced deli meats...weigh out your portions. Fruit cups. Soup. Cottage cheese. Yogurt.

Take the things you know you can tolerate already to work and leave the experimenting for dinner.

Btw, most people don't start tough meats like steak til later. Stick to moist chicken, tuna salad, egg salad, and white fish like cod. Poached eggs are easier to eat than scrambled, they're so soft and silky.
