    Default 6 weeks post op

I havent been on too much lately, been busy. All in and all I am good. If i had to complain about something it would be getting very tired easily. After a full work day I am exhausted. But going to keep doing better cause I have a goal that I want to meet before I leave in January to go to Vegas.

There really hasnt been anything that I have ate that has really disagreed with me. My tastebuds are the same. There have been times that I think a got a little too full (with very little food lol) but I have never thrown up or had heartburn.

I have to admit that I have been obscessed with the scale. I was weighing everyday and sometimes 2 or 3x a day (i know bad lol) I see people losing more than I did in my first 6 weeks but I know everyone is different. I think I wore out the batteries on mysacle. I hadnt seen a scale number in 2 weeks I was pleasantly surpirsed that when i got on the scale for first time in 2 weeks and I was finally about to drop the the 220's. Before the 2 weeks it fluctuate between 232-235 and i was getting discouraged. I think it might have been a blessing in disguise lol. If I can get to ONEderland by January I will be super stoked lol.

I am trucking along and so grateful for all the support!

I was exhausted easily for almost the first year...... I realized that the more I became active the more energy I gained also. Congrats on the amount you've lost so far that's amazing! I know people that have only lost 30-40 lbs overall after a year so your definitely kicking butt. Even 2 years later, I still average 1lb per month of weight loss. Hope it stays that way so that by 2025 I'll be at my dream weight (hehe) lol

Not sure if you have tried or not, but B-12 shots were great. Later I was introduced to Soark and I would have one in am and one in late afternoon after I really started to feel drained and they always picked me back up. I only like the watermelon flavor though but it was a life savor.

Keep after it, you will reach your goals. I talked with the Doc about getting tired and she said it was natural during this phase because of the limited intake and adjusting to the new you. Increasing protein helps but you also need to let your body recover from a traumatic event.

I take B12 shots now and I'm still pre-surgery...they really do help. It took about 3 weeks for me to see the difference and I have to take a shot once a week. It definitely gives me the strength and energy I need to tackle my daily activities. Give it some time! and Way to go girl! 6 weeks and you're down 30+ lbs! That sounds amazing!

Are you taking your vitamins as directed? What about iron? I had some exhaustion but has since improved. I do know others who have really had to watch their iron levels. Hope you feel better soon.

So glad you posted! I was also really tired in the beginning. I know I had a time when my blood pressure tanked, and I almost passed out. I think mine was because my carbs were way too low. My ex had me drink some juice off of canned peaches, and wowsa! Big difference! You just have to play around with it. Thankfully, we have lots of time to figure all this out. Glad you are making staedy progress!!!

    My energy plummeted too.

I found this B-Complex that has helped me tremendously, I found it at Vitamin Shoppe (maybe GNC) which I now take only once a week, because my last labs showed my B12 level was elevated.

Looking at your ticker, you are doing great! I rarely weighed in the beginning (I don't own a scale) but if you are into comparing yourself to others, here are my first 5 weigh ins....

    11 days postop - 0 pounds lost
    6 weeks - 17 pounds lost
7 weeks - gained 3 pounds for a net loss of 14 pounds.
12 weeks - same 17 pounds lost at 6 weeks
    16 weeks - 25 pounds lost

Now look at my ticker....100 pounds gone forever and maintaining below goal. So the rate that you lose in the beginning really has no bearing on your long term success. Just stick with it and be happy for every ounce you lose.

As for energy, what are your calories/protein/fluids/carbs looking like? I was working 10+ hour days starting a week after surgery and I found I felt a whole lot better when I added pureed fruit to my protein shakes. I also felt a lot better, and started losing weight, once I got my calories back up to around 1000. I always made it a priority to get 60-80g protein, 64+ ounces water, and all my vitamins (multi, calcium, iron, vitamin D, and sublingual B12) every day.

    Congrats on your progress!

You're blood sugar was low, that's why the juice perked you up. It's what diabetics do when they're too low...drink something sweet like juice or soda.
