Hi there!
Congrats on your surgery and getting past the pure liquids! I am brand new here, just registered. I was just approved for surgery, and my projected date of the surgery is October 10. I have been reading a lot about the diets pre-and post surgery. How did you feel your first two weeks post surgery? What will you be preparing/making for meals now that you have graduated to purees today?
I'm looking forward to following those of you also going through the changes- It will be good to exchange recipes, etc!
I will be honest...it was not a fast surgery recovery for me personally. The first week was pretty uncomfortable, the second mostly emotional. The last week I've been feeling better but have been pretty dizzy and light headed. My BP nosedived, so I've stopped my meds!! I was crazy high in the hospital so they kept me 2 extra nights. Now it's 90's over 60...by glucose tanked too. I am feeling sooooo much better in the last 2 days.
I went through a bit of feeling sorry for myself...until I realized how these stages are temporary and the weight is coming off...21 pounds in 20 days. I'm still apprehensive about social outings so I've avoided them.
Starting thin purees today has been the best!
I wish you all the best!! You'll do great and the hardest part goes by fast!
