    Default Newbie!

Hello all I am new to the forum. I had my surgery on 8/8/2016. I've lost 42 lbs to date. I feel great. Still experimenting with what I can eat. I'm trying to eat solid proteins with not much luck. When I do eat something like grilled chicken it feels like it's getting stuck near my sternum and I become nautious. I'm still eating soup, drinking protein shakes and try to eat soft canned vegetables. I get a little discouraged because I love beef and chicken and not having much luck eating those. Loosing weight daily and I'm doing well otherwise!

That is awesome! Was your 42 pounds all post op or is it including your pre op diet. I had surgery on 08/18/2016 and I experience the food getting stuck with even the soft foods. I only eat a few bites and then wait a while before eating more. The only thing I don't like is by the time I finish my food it is cold.

Actual weight loss is from pre op to present. I lost 11 lbs on pre op liquid diet and lost the rest since my surgery.

That is awesome! I lost about the same on my pre op diet as well. I just like to see how everyone else is doing with their journey so I stay motivated. I stalled going into my 4th week and almost had a meltdown. Good thing I was on here and reading everyone else's experiences to find out that is normal.

    Welcome to the sleeved side!

    Congratulations on your loss!

I remember using the blender to pulverize solid meats. I also sprinkled unflavored protein powder into and on EVERYTHING to increase daily protein intake.

You've come to by far the best site for support, no-nonsense suggestions, knowledge, wisdom and experience.

Best of luck as you continue your journey!

Congrats on your loss!! May I suggest not eating solids till around weeks 5-7? I know everyone is different but I think being on purees or soft foods like eggs and cottage cheese would be easier right now. I wasn't able to tolerate meats that weren't purees with broth till about 6 weeks out. Hope this helps.
