Had the surgery Wednesday morning and came home yesterday (Thursday afternoon). I'm wiped out and sore, but looking forward to moving on to pureed foods today when I wake up. Hope everyone's doing well
Pureed foods? I was on liquids a good three weeks on doctors orders. But each surgeon is different. Try Using a blender or food processor. Just take it easy on yourself. Breath, sip and walk in between resting.
Wishing you a speedy and healthy recovery.

The practice I am getting treatment with is one week minimum clear liquids then two weeks protein shakes then three months soft foods-eggs, cottage cheese, tuna, etc.
Clear liquids for me the first 48 hours post op like broth and sugar free Popsicles, then protein shakes, puréed soup, and fruit smoothies day 3-7 (must pass through a fine mesh strainer). Weeks 2 and 3, drinkable yogurts, cream blended soups without chunks, protein supplement 40-60g per day, 48 oz water daily. Weeks 4-7, oatmeal, cottage cheese, hummus, puréed soups, continue protein supplement, begin daily exercise 20 minutes per day 5 times a week.
They actually told you to eat baby food? Omgoodness, other than being bland and gross there is also hardly any protein in it. Please, triple check with them and make sure you get your minimum required protein and water. It is essential for recuperating from this major surgery.

I bought the Ketosis test strips a few days ago, I have used them every time I go pee and NADA! no ketosis no color no nothing!!! and I just do no want to lower my carbs more than they already are because I need fiber to keep me full longer and to help with regularity. Oh well! Lucky you!

I have a handy Listerine mouth spray; I keep in the car and in my purse.
Do you track your food? try using a free app like My Fitness Pal or LoseIt (which I use and love!)
If you are not hungry, try to get on a schedule and try to get a few ounces of food of whatever stage you are on and track it.
Try to meet your recommended minimum Protein and water. Mine was 65g Protein, and 64oz of water, which I was doing by end of week.
If you don't want to use an app to track your protein grams or water, you can easily gauge it by:
- Sample protein: 1 cup (8oz) of MuscleEGG Protein Drink is 26g of Protein, you would need to drink three cups to meet the required standard Protein recommendation ( I actually just discovered it, and wish I had known about sooner! most Vitamin and Health Food Stores carry it or you can order online. I have only tried Chocolate and OHMG! Delish!)
- Kindle had posted a great example of hydration, but you would have to sip 1/4 cup (2oz) of water every 15 minutes for eight hours to get your 64 oz in.
