    Default "Officially" Back To Work

So today was my official 1st day at my new job, granted its part-time.

I don't know if it's this Texan heat, but I'm feeling light headed, and dizzy.

I had my probiotic and a protein shake before I headed out this morning, because of parking on campus I had to go feed the meter every two hours, got up and walked a few blocks 3x which was a nice break from sitting in front of a computer. I had a snack each time. Cheese stick, yogurt and a piece of a raw oats (Bobos Bar), a Starbucks nonfat latte.

Still I feel light headed and a little spacey. I feel as if I may have low blood pressure. I felt it when I get up from chair, normally those sort of things pass quickly, but it has been lingering.

Anyone else feeling low energy, dizzy, or light headed? If so, has anything helped?

I'm on an insurance lapse right now, and looking for a resonable cash doctor.

Hi Shirl, feeling much the same, doc said i need to try and balance my diet more, more protein, more fluids, i cant eat anymore than i am without snacking all day, i dont want to do that as thats how i got to 270lbs in the first place, if i drink anymore i will float away, protein is my problem, still having a premier drink most mornings, then i struggle to eat at all, i have to force myself as most days i genuinly do not feel hungry, do you feel hunger at all,

Oh for sure! I failed to mention that I drink about a 16oz bottle every hour or two. But definitely agree on the hydration portion.

I needed a pick me upper with my Starbucks! heehee!

It could be dehydration, but it could also be low blood pressure/low sodium issues. I have this and I get dizzy and light-headed. I actually have to track my sodium intake along with my protein intake to make sure I'm getting enough sodium in. With the heat you lose even more sodium through your sweat.

My protein shakes are about 40g of protein sometimes more, but I definitely need to add more vegetables today.

I get hungry if I am idled, but if I'm busy I forget about food. I am able to do reach 1000-1200 cals a day eating small meals every two to three hours. Which is why I'm baffled why I'm feeling light headed.

Oh yes! Thank you! I have read you mentioned that before.

I just checked my app to see if I can track sodium- not easy, but I think I can figure out.

What would be a good base for sodium? What was yours and what do you aim for? Or maybe a better question is... what is a safe minimum or maximum?

MFP gives us 2300 mgs of sodium a day. Very easy to meet.

Remember at the beginning how I was always so dizzy? Well, that's gotten better, but still not totally gone.

I think that our losing calories of 1000-1200 are too low to support our body functions....we just don't get enough calories to use for energy. But, hey, that's what losing wt is all about....having a calorie deficit.

I'm thinking that once we're much thinner, we'll be able to function lots better at lower calories, just like a regular thin person does.

I was a dose of BP pills, losing weight dropped my BP too low, so they lowered my dose.. I was lightheaded.

I live in TX too and I think the heat is definitely an extra hurdle. Granted I'm only 15 days out but I feel dizzy and light headed often too. I think it's a combination of the heat, the body adjusting to the reduced calories, the reduced sugar and maybe not enough water. I would say it's fairly normal tho.

Pam, I went to a pharmacy to talk to a pharmacist about my chronic constipation, I just cannot get it regular. She recommended a magnesium supplement, which bought and we will see. It's supposed to be taken with a citrus juice to work better.

I also told her I'm doing 1100-1200cal and reaching 100g easily, but that my current labs show I'm protein deficient. She recommended a supplement call ProtEase it is higher concentration than the bromelian and papain enzymes I already take. I also take one a day, and she recommended 1-2 caps with every meal.

I was hoping my body would find its rhythm by now, but I just have to be patient.

I bought Pedialite (electrolytes) to add to my water. Not as light headed today.
