When did you notice loss

Ok so I was sleeved 3 days ago. Have drank water only since. I guess I expected to have lost weight by now. When did everyone start to notice a difference in weight? I know it's only been 3 days but I've not eaten! Lol. I'm impatient.

Don't weigh for 2 weeks. You're retaining lots of fluid right now.

I have weighted daily since I got home and I am on my 10 days post op. The key is not to be impatient. Everything I read told me I would weigh more when I got back and I did by a couple of pounds, but after a few days i started noticing it slipping. Make sure you are still walking like your doctor suggested but not to over work. Plus, when you don't eat...you body reserves for later. You need to try and eat the broths that were recommended for you and just be patient, it will melt away quicker than you think.

Be patient and Stay.off.the.scale. If all you've had in 3 days is water, you've got bigger problems than not losing weight. 1) they pumped you full of fluids during surgery so any anything, you should weigh more now than preop. 2) you are starving your body and it's not gonna let go of its reserves anytime soon. For all your body knows, you may never eat again and it's gonna slow down and try and preserve every ounce of fat you have.

Start getting some nutrition as your postop plan allows. You should be consuming all the protein you can to help your body heal. What are your guidelines? Most programs call for MINIMUM 64oz fluids and 60g protein. I was hitting both of these by 5 days out.

BTW, I weighed exactly the same as surgery day the first time I stepped on the scale at 11 days out. Look at me now. So I'll say it again, save yourself a lot of stress and heartache, and STAY. OFF. THE. SCALE.

I was told not to do any protien until today. Just stick to clear liquids. I have only wanted water for my clear liquids. Today I have drank my protien. Not yet made the requirement but plan to. Thanks for the advice. I know I shouldn't be discouraged already but I am.

day 3 i had gained 3 pounds - youre pumped up with fluids. . . it will drop I promise, dont focus on the weight right now, it will come off. Focus on healing and getting your fluids!
