Question Should I be worried about gaining weight,Before Surgery?

I have been scheduled for Surgery for Six months, because of insurance clearances.
I am a month away, and my appetite has grown.
I can't stop eating, and I'm gaining more weight , up to 290 now.

Does anyone have a similar situation?

    Thanks
    Matt

Also, can anyone assist on how to joing Groups?

your doctor will place you on a diet of sorts to decrease your liver size..May want to think seriously about your reasons for surgery..How bad do you want it? Because after surgery your may experience "head hunger" which is not fun to go thru. Try and get into exercising and watching what you eat now so you will be well prepared for surgery

    Heighest weight 253 pounds 3/2/2016
    Pre-op weight 244 pounds 3/6/2016
    1 week after surgery 238 pounds 3/13/16
    1 month post-op 227 pounds 4/6/16 lost 26 pounds
    2 month post-op 218 pounds 5/6/16 lost 9 pounds total of 35!
    3 month post-op 204 pounds 6/6/16 lost 14 pounds total of 49!
    4 month post-op 197 pounds 7/6/16 lost 8 pounds total of 56!

What is head hunger? Mine is coming up soon. I've made small changes already now I am making adjustment for the liquid diet.

Did you lose the hungry feeling after the surgery?
I heard when they cut out the stomach, that a chromosome disappears or something like that, that makes you feel little hunger after surgery.

    Thanks.

I prequalified for the sleeve at exactly 200 pounds. Due to food funerals (eating my favorite foods one last time before saying 'goodbye'), I had gotten up to 225 pounds four months after the prequalification.

I lost the intense hunger after the surgery. However, be forewarned that the lack of hunger is temporary. The body makes adaptations and the hunger gradually returns within a year, although I am not nearly as hungry as prior to the surgery.

When the surgeon sleeves you, he/she removes the greater curvature of the stomach that produces the hunger hormone ghrelin. So, you have virtually no appetite after surgery. However, the body adapts by generating ghrelin from other places over time, so most people see their appetite increase over time.

This surgery will not help anyone succeed long term without good habits. Some people have regained all of their weight by reverting to bad habits and slider foods. Remember, the surgeon changes your stomach, not your mind.
