I used Dr Ariel Ortiz in TJ. Look him up. He and his staff are amazing. I had such an easy time of it. Minimal pain. Minimal downtime. I had surgery on Friday and was back to work the next Wednesday. (I felt well enough to work on Tuesday but didn't get home until the wee morning hours)
I understand that having the surgery in the US is comforting to many people but I (and many others on here) can tell you that the care we received in TJ was superior to prior experiences here in the states and at a fraction of the cost.
Best of luck to you no matter where you decide to go!
Have you looked at TLC in houston? someone on here is using them and she can tell you how much they're hanging for cash pay. Don't forget about the hospital, anesthesiologist, radiologist, pathology and labs fees too, though. Hope you're independently wealthy!
Ok, I just scrolled up....read all the posts. doodle_Mom is the one using TLC.

Wow, I heard about $1800.
very wrong, for got about the other treatments besides Dr fee.
Tricare would have taken 6-9 months for all the pre surgery requirements.
I was ready and did my homework.. there was so much info on this site and other books to prep me and prepare me for the long term.
This is just a tool.
Dag gone I am so happy there is one.
Same here. There seem to be more bariatric options here in Houston than most of the US, but paradoxically prices (from when I checked) were all uniformly higher (~40K - 50K total)? I went to Dr. Almanza and could not be happier. I did opt for a local plastic surgeon to remove all the loose skin.
I sell total hips, knees implants. They also have
this is minimally invasive procedures you are thinking about getting, but yours is a sleeve.
MI to means the dr. gets less exposure- can't see as well as the other doctors.
Saves you 2 incisions, no biggie they will fade with time.
If it's so good how come other drs are not advertising doing the same.
Think before you jump into this so called "great deal"
The GOLD STANDARD is 4 or 5 ports ( incisions )
Don't change what is not broken.
How many surgs has this DR. done? Who else has uses this? where was he taught it?
do you homework
Sometimes cheaper is not better
Dr. ELias Darido, his office is off 59 and Weslayan, he is very professional and down to earth and makes you feel comfortable at every visit. His staff is very quick to respond to any questions you have. I will be using my insurance and I will not have to pay as much out of pocket as I thought. And the hospital he works out of is a moderate size place, very comfortable. (First Street Hospital), in the city of Bellaire. Give it a try and I wish you all the best from beginning to end.
