    Default Unflavored protein powder

Does anyone use an unflavored protein powder to add to soft and pureed foods, looking for when I get to that stage. If so, what are your reviews, can you taste it after you add it? How much do you add and to what do you add it? What brand do you use and where do you buy?

    Thanks in advance!

Genepro! You can mix it with anything! Coffee, pudding, soup, cottage cheese, drinks, ANYTHING! I love this stuff. 30 grams of protein and 100 calories. I buy from Amazon.

I wouldn't recommend Genepro. It really isn't protein. its a quack fad product produced by a company that also sells male enhancement, libido boosters, miracle muscle boosters and fat burners. There is absolutely no scientific evidence that verify their claims and there are no studies that demonstrates its absorption and bioavailability. Really, A basic knowledge of biochemistry tells you it isn't a complete protein product.

Stick with a 100% whey protein product (or a mixture of cassein, milk and whey concentrates) Yes, they will clump if heated over 140 degrees (cause that's what REAL protein does) and it has a certain taste when added to food. But that taste is easily masked in shakes, soups, and most pureed foods like refried beans, eggs, etc. I wouldn't recommend mixing it in juice or water cause it will taste gross. Unjury, Syntrax and isopure all make good unflavored protein powders and are available in health food stores, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, and from dozens of online stores including Amazon and My Bariatric Pantry.

But you don't have to limit yourself to unflavored powders. Premier protein RTD chocolate and vanilla make for great coffee creamers, muscle milk cake batter protein added to cottage cheese tastes like cheesecake, Syntrax nectars come in many different flavors and are like drinking koolaid or iced tea. There are coffee, latte and cappuccino flavors. Orange water flavors mixed with vanilla protein powder and frozen is like a dreamsicle. You options of protein supplements are nearly endless.

I have tried unjury and it was good. My go to right now is: https://www.rawdynamix.com/whey-protein/
They have other flavors/ and types of protein powders. Protein shakes make me gag. I use 1 scoop of unflavored/unsweetened powder in my morning cup of coffee. They ship really fast too. I found some unflavored protein at walmart that I might try too.

Isopure powder was way too salty (and kind of gross too) so I tried the organic whey (Now Foods) in soup, mixed with a blender, was ok, but I actually prefer vegan protein powder in general. I only make shakes with it. Right now I use True vitality. Try a few samples first, don't stock up your taste could change post-op. Good luck and take care.
