Had Sleeve in '12 and now I have gained

Hi,
I'm From Texas and I find myself in a situation.... I had my surgery in 2012 and my starting weight was 238 pounds the day before surgery.... I reached a low weight of 165 lbs but them gradually began to gain weight again. I went from a nice size 8 to a tight 12 and I am so discouraged. I have no idea what happened... I know the Depo shot had a lot to do with it but I can't seem to break the threshold of 180lbs. I go from 180-186 lbs. I have no idea what to do any suggestions???? .... I guess I should start protein shakes again and see what happens....

Divanina, I have not yet been sleeve so have no real experience to draw on but can tell you that Vitaleph.com has a pouch reset kit. I believe it is a very strict 7 day program. That's something I would try. Best of luck!

I keep a very tight control over my weight. When I go past a certain number I really put the brakes on. I found the Five day pouch test helps you get back on track.
Good luck. You are still way below your start weight, so give yourself credit.

Whatever you did to lose 70+ pounds is what you need to do again. Whatever you did to regain is what you need to stop doing. Are you still getting 60-80g protein? 64-100oz of water? No grazing? If you aren't tracking what you eat maybe you could start there so you know what might need to be changed. Go back to basics. A few days of liquid preop diet or a couple weeks of strict protein/veggies usually does the trick for me to drop a few pounds, reset my restriction and get my head back in the game. And no, the depo shot didn't cause your weight gain, other than maybe some water retention. The actual poundage was from what you are eating. I've been on a couple courses of steroids lasting 4-6 weeks since my VSG and had to be particularly careful not to give in to the increased appetite so I wouldn't regain.

Good luck. You can do this. Let the sleeve do its job of portion control and you do yours by being careful what you chose to eat.
