Getting my 2nd lap band removed today!

I am so relieved to be getting my 2nd slipped lap band REMOVED today. It's the next step towards getting the sleeve, which will be in 2-3 months. I had so many problems with food getting stuck with this lap band. There were times I'd even throw up water!

Hi Mary, I'm having a EGD done 7/21. My surgery date isnt schedule yet, but I will be having the revision to a sleeve in my near future. I know what you mean as far as a failed lapband. I'm just ready to get this all behind me...And best of luck to you!!

My husband had his removed & then the sleeve performed in March. He was one of those candidates who couldn't eat properly with the band, couldn't eat around kids & learned early on that ice cream went down with no pain, lol. He is so much happier now & has lost 54 lbs.

I am in the same boat except mine isn't a clear slip. It varies week to week or day to day how much and what I throw up (water included) I just saw the surgeon again today and hope to have mine out next month and sleeve come December. Best of luck to you on this journey. I'm really hoping this is the answer. Did my first surgery in 2008. Been fat my whole life with the usual up and down 50lbs on this or that diet.

I really wish that I had learned about the sleeve years ago. Have read so many bad reports on the band. Have a friend though that has had wonderful success with lap band and he's had it for over 10 yrs with only 4 adjustments. He's kept weight off and feels great. I'm just starting the process of getting sleeved and hope for November for surgery.
