My story from the UK to Mexico

My story
I had surgury 27/june 2016

I flew from the UK to have a GS as I would be laughed out of the room at my height & weight despite struggling to lose weight for years
I am also a low BMI 30 & 5 ft 6 high but I carried the weight very well didn't actuslly look that heavy

My surgeon was Dr Camelo at medicaltourismco.com Florence Hospital
2 of my friends had recently had surgury with him and have reccomended him so that's why I chose him

Everything went text book perfect, no problems apart from an aching shoulder I had surgury monday and I flew home on Sunday

I have in a week already lost 11lbs and flying home I was lighter than when I flew out

Price wise it was $4250 /£3000 compared to £10,000 plus in the UK

So I also had a two week holiday in San Diego & LA as I had never been before

everyone tells me i dont look heavy enough to have the surgery either. Im doing it for my health also

My self-esteem is not wrapped up in what others think of me! I couldn't care less about what others think about me taking care of my health! MYOB is my standard reply.

This is hands down the best decision I ever made for me and my health. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

Hippychick, I'm looking to do the same thing. I'm in Japan and cannot afford to get the surgery done here, so will go to Tijuana instead. Like you, I hope to spend some time in San Diego and LA afterwards. I was just curious as to how you felt after surgery and how much you were able to do afterwards (or did you do your sightseeing before?) How was the flight back home? I'm debating booking business class just for comfort as I do not want to be squeezed in economy for a 12+ hour flight.
