How much are you walking? Walking should help. Or call your doctor to check if you can take gasX.

Gas X was my best friend the kind that dissolves on your tongue. Also lots of walking!

gasX extra strength strips didn't seem to do much for me. I'm experiencing more gassy issues these days and I just bought a generic brand of Simethicone 125g (same ingredient of gasX). The dissolvable pellets seem to be helping, but maybe because I'm using it as directed not once in a while...

    From the web:

For oral dosage form (chewable tablets):
Adults and teenagers—Usual dose is 40 to 125 mg four times a day, after meals and at bedtime or the dose may be 150 mg three times a day, after meals. The dose should not be more than 500 mg in twenty-four hours.

It took me about a week/8 days to get rid of the gas. Besides walking, I did a lot of upper body stretching (without aggravating my incisions). I would stretch my arms above my head and to the sides and I would also gently twist my torso. That seemed to help. It should be clearing up within a day or two...hang in there.

There's two kinds of gas pain: GI gas (like you need to fart) and co2 gas pain ( the gas they use to blow up your abdomen during surgery....they remove as much as possible during surg, but sometimes there's some left in and it usually goes up, into the shoulders and neck)

Gas X and walking should help with the GI gas, but the shoulder pain, you just have to wait it out.

Not sure how it works jonnyelias but the strips plus walking alleviates the gas. That is what all the docs and pt's will tell you.

A lot of people have pressure, bloating, pain from stomach gas after surgery. Some don't have much. I happen to have a lot!
