How not to spend your birthday..,

Today has certainly been an eventful day. I had a 2:30pm appt with my Psychologist
for additional help/reinforcement. 8 lb. weight loss since last visit about 3-4 weeks
ago. Got back to work and experienced some chest pain. My wife insisted that I cab
it over to Northwestern Hospital's ER, where I've been under observation for almost
five hours now. BP, EKG, bloodwork, 1st enzyme test all normal. WTF?

In one hour I turn 66. My sleeve is less than 3.5 weeks away. I hope I'm able
to keep this timeline.

So great news about 39 lb. pre surgery weight loss to a trip to the ER. Too much
excitement for me!

Thanks for the Birthday wishes, Pam. Had a 2nd Cardiac Enzyme Test around
Midnight, and it also showed negative on heart damage. Will have once more
this morning before hopefully being discharged. Three NWMH Physicians have
stated to me that this should be further proof that my heart is up to the stress
of the Sleeve. I'll probably see my Cardiologist this morning. So ...the lower
chest pain...??? Gastric distress ???

Hi all...

Many thanks to all for the well wishes and B-day wishes. 3rd cardiac
enzyme test also negative. More testing....Cardiologist wants me to
have another stress test ( chemically induced ) in order to compare
results to same test 2yrs ago. If they start moving their asses, I could get out
of here today.

Aw Ron that stinks. Happy Birthday. At least you know, like you said, your heart is strong enough for the surgery. I say what ever time you get released you make your wife bring you somewhere to celebrate wether its 2 pm or 2 am. I hope the rest of the year turns out better..best wishes

Thank you to everyone who sent well wishes/Birthday wishes. Sorry if I neglected to answer each message. Boy, was that a hellish 25/26 hours!
Nuclear stress test showed exact same results as last one, 2-3 years ago. EKG no new issues of concerns.

Finally got released about 6:00pm. Hadn't been allowed to eat or drink while waiting and waiting for Nuclear test process which didn't begin until late.

Gas pain is the suspected culprit.

Got home and ate like a human vacuum cleaner, including 2 Almond Joy bars, which I almost never have except to pull out of a low blood sugar. Happy that this ordeal is behind me.

i agree with all of you. these are the very nice reasons to not to celebrate a birthday. but every one want to celebrate his birthday with everyone but when that didn't happens that person get sad.
