    Default Another Chance????

Can't stop thinking of my appointment tmrw with my Dr. I'm sleeved for almost 5 1/2 yrs with lots of weight gain. I am focused on hoping to be given a second chance to be a candidate for RNY. Since it is not a revision (maybe), I am praying Medicare will approve. I have checked with Medicare and an RNY is 100% COVERED. If not, my next plan is to do a liquid doctor supervised diet. I've done that also beore and loved it; losing 65lbs in 5 mths (length of program). So, I do have mental control.

How much did you lose with your sleeve? And what do you contribute to gaining it back?

I lost 70lb and the contribution was emotional all day grazing on sweets and I am a meat eater. Talapia, ground turkey, chicken breast, & turkey chops.

And with the liquid diet that was in 2006. So, when I had the sleeve procedure in 2011 I had only gained 10lbs in 5 yrs.

The meat shouldn't cause you to gain, because it has virtually no carbs. The sweets will definitely come back to haunt you though. It sounds like you might need some counseling before you get started on your next journey. I am 4 years out, and regaining is always on my mind. I have to constantly be vigilant about my diet and never let it get out of control. Wishing you the very best!!

    Hello
Well I saw the surgeon this morning. And I have to say he was very adamant in his instructions on what I have to do within the next 6 weeks for my next appt in order for him to approve the RNY. Upon his exam I seem to have a fatty liver. And his concern of possible scar tissue from VSG in 2011. So he has ordered a Upper GI exam to see what my stomach is looking like.

But ya'll know what, out of all the doctors I've seen throughout my life, this was the most eye opening. Because this is my life and my health. My husband is sooooo supportive. He said, "we can do this Babe"; together. He's not overweight .But knowing he has my back I know I will conquer.

So, I'll be here on GS to get & give support here and work hard for the next 6 weeks.

You've come to the best site for support, no-nonsense suggestions, knowledge, wisdom and experience.

I'm so grateful to have the best therapist in the world, specializing in WLS patients. She's helped me get down to "causes and conditions". They operate on our stomachs, not on our heads.
