I don't eat as much as before, thats for sure. I can only eat about 3oz. I struggle with not drinking with meals. A few times, i was so thirsty, that i drank like 20 min after eating. I don't know if thats a factor for my hunger. My hunger is way different thats for sure. But i am not one of those people that forget to eat. wish i was

6 days out, not very hungry but hella thirsty. I am used to drinking 65-80 ounces of water a day, not so anymore! I have found I need to have a big chunk of protein before bed, wake up hungry if not. still trying to get used to signs from my stomach. Bored um hunger I have to fight as well! Aksonflower

I think you have to remember that they took out part of our stomach but they did not fix our heads. Lets face facts, we did not get to the point where we were going to have WLS by being good at controlling our eating urges. At mealtime we desire food . It makes us feel good to move it in our mouth, to taste it , to chew it, to smell it, to look at it on a plate, to feel it going down our throat. We LOVE food. That is what got us to the point where we needed surgery. To think that all the pleasure that we associate with food is going to just leave us when we get surgery is foolish. I find that if I stick to a low carb, high protein diet my appetite is pretty well controlled. With the surgery I have to force myself to eat all of my meals and snacks. I have a hard time getting in my protein, and my calories are often under 500 still. I am hoping to increase that as I move into more solid "regular"food.
